Welcome to one of the most important steps you will take in your dogs life. Training is very important. It not only yields a well behaved dog, it also creates a wonderful bond between you and your dog. Jennifer Cook has been training dogs formally for 5 years. She is originally from Tennessee and moved here 3 years ago when she transferred with another job. She is married and lives in Little Rock, AR. She has5 dogs, 2 cats, 3 children and 2 step-children. She and her husband also have one Grandchild.
She uses positive training methods, often called "clicker training".This is similar to  "lure and reward training", and has been very effective in dogs she has trained. She was skeptical at first, as many of her clients were. It doesn't take long to see that this type of training does work.
She began training as a child at the age of 8 with the Cockapoo she had begged her mother to buy from someone in a parking lot. He was very tolerant  of her lack of knowledge but even with her lack of knowledge, they learned well together. She began working with her first horse at the age of 10 and by the age of 14 she was working in a Veterinary Clinic, soaking up all the knowledge she could. She loved working with animals and often found herself caring for sick and injured wild animals through the zoo and the nature center in her home town.
As she grew up and had children of her own, they became interested in working with their dogs. Although she had only used correction training on her dogs, she knew that could be difficult for an 8yr old child to do without harming her dog.
She searched and found a wonderful trainer that used a method called clicker training. She was surprised at how well it worked and she quickly became hooked. The dogs were so much happier in training and learned so much faster. Most of all the dogs offered their good behavior rather than having to constantly be told what to do. Isn't that everyone's dream?
She spoke with her trainer and began working for her part time, helping out in classes and learning the process.  Now she would like to share the joys of  building a lasting, trusting relationship with your dog. A relationship built on trust and respect, rather than fear.
You can be assured that your pet will receive the individual one on one attention they need. This includes the Pet Sitting as well as the training services offered at Pawsitive Puppies. You and your pet will feel  comfortable and respected throughout the training experience. They will have more than just a few minutes of attention when attended to while you have to be away for any length of time. Although we could never take the place of the owner, the pet will be cared for as we do our own.
Choosing a trainer or a pet sitter is very important and requires the owner to feel comfortable with the person and the services that are offered. You will find more information on our pet sitting and training services on our
